The March game got off to good start once again with Uncle Jack ever present as the Main Starter and assisted by Fanie Jogie on the 1st and Mbulelo Jolingana on the 10th tees respectively. New Nomads – please be aware that you will shortly be called upon to do starting duties as a way to introduce you to each Nomad!
Nomads withdrawing from the monthly game : I would like to draw the intention of the Nomads who wish to withdraw from the monthly game to PLEASE INFORM ME by the latest Friday 18h00 or in the cases of late withdrawal, on SATURDAY by 18h00. If you are not able to get hold of me, please advise the Captain accordingly. In the past three months now, members have been sending messages ‘via” another member of the Vice Captain at a very late stage. This notification is then sent to me at 08h00 on the morning of the monthly game and this means that the draw is affected and we have had no option, but to send more coveys off than usual in a 3 man format. Please be considerate of the Match Secretary and the Main Starter as well as the members of your four ball.
A reminder to members who inform us late of their intention to withdraw : You are required to send an apology to the members of your four ball and in instances when notification is only received on the morning of the monthly game, you are still required to pay your green fees for the day.
After all the instructions and pleas, I am pleased to note that the score cards were received in good time and we were able to capture both the scores for the monthly game as well as the “Nationals Team/Old Boys/Young Guns Competition by 17h30 and prize giving starting closer to 17h45. By 18h30, everything was over and another monthly game in the bag. Please note with the advent of Winter, the games will be starting half an hour earlier to accommodate the last players in the field. Please watch the draw for the change in times.
SAGA Swipe Card: The following members failed to swipe their cards this game: D Gradwell (awaiting card from new home club – Indwe) and Darryl Lottering (awaiting card from new home club – Gonubie) and Eric Mgqibelo (to collect card from new home club – Magaliesberg) No card present – Errol Taylor. To note that due to the poor internet reception at the West Bank Club on Sunday, experienced a few challenges and the process took a while longer (slow….). Thank you to the gentlemen for your patience while I was certainly NOT.
